The Robert Zoeller mural was officially welcomed to its new home at the Patchogue Medford Library. The mural had hung in the Union Savings Bank on South Ocean Avenue and portrays the Patchogue River. The Greater Patchogue Historical Society, through the efforts of Marjorie Roe, was able to secure the funds to have the historic mural restored and hung at the library.
On June 9 historical society members, Dina McNeece Chrils, Library Director, and many staff, Jonathan Sherman, restorer, community members, benefactors and the family of the artist all gathered for the official "unveiling". A reception took place in the gallery on the lower level where works and information about Robert Zoeller were on display.
The Greater Patchogue Historical Society is thrilled that this local Patchogue treasure has been preserved and is now in our library where it may be viewed and appreciated by everyone in the community. Thank you so much to those who made it possible.
