The following is a list of men who fought during the American Civil War between 1861-1865 and were born in Patchogue, were Patchogue residents at the time, eventually settled in Patchogue, or are on record as enlisting in Patchogue.

Bailey, Edwin - 15th New York Infantry - On June 4, 1864, Edwin Bailey of Patchogue was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant with Company F, New York 15th Infantry Regiment at Patchogue. He mustered out on June 6, 1864 at Fort Richmond, New York Harbor.

Banker, Abram - 5th NY Infantry Regiment - Age, 31 years. Enlisted, July 20, 1861, at New York city; mustered in as private, Co. D, July 29, 1861, to serve three years; wounded, June 27, 1862, at Gaines Mills,Va .; at Bull Run, Va. , August 30, 1862; discharged, November 8, 1862, at Armory Square Hospital, Washington, D.C. for wounds; also listed as Bancker.

Beale, David E. - 139th NY Infantry Regiment - Age, 45 years. Enlisted, August 30, 1862, at Brooklyn, to serve three years; mustered in as sergeant, Co. I, September 9, 1862; discharged for disability, January 25, 1865, at Chesapeake Hospital, Fort Monroe, Va.; also listed as David B.

Beale, David F. - 139th NY Infantry Regiment - Age, 18 years. Enrolled, August 24, 1862, at Jamaica, to serve three years; mustered in as sergeant, Co. A, September 9, 1862; promoted first sergeant, July 11, 1864; mustered in as first lieutenant, December 1, 1864; mustered out with company, June 19, 1865, at Richmond, Va. Commissioned first lieutenant, December 30, 1864, with rank from December 1,1864, vice G. W. McComb promoted.

Craven, John Joseph – 1st  NJ Militia – Surgeon in the 1st New Jersey Militia, In 1862-  medical director of the department of the south; Assigned as medical purveyor department in September, 1862; medical director 10th army corps May, 1864; A medical purveyor of the department of Virginia and North Carolina January 1865, and stationed at Fort Monroe. Received the brevet rank of lieutenant-colonel Dec. 16, 1865 and was mustered out of the service.
